*Lingaa* (2014) is a Tamil action-drama directed by K.S. Ravikumar and starring superstar Rajinikanth in dual roles as Raja Lingeswaran, a revered king, and his grandson Lingaa, a small-time thief.
The story revolves around Lingeswaran's efforts to build a dam for the prosperity of his kingdom, only to be betrayed by the British, leading to his tragic downfall. Generations later, his grandson Lingaa returns to save the same dam from corporate greed, discovering his heritage along the way.
